Under 19's (Centex) National Programme

Players who attend this national programme are deemed to have the potential to represent England at Lacrosse at Under 19 level and/or higher.  Players are invited onto the programme either through fast tracking, after a nomination from a lacrosse teacher/coach, or advancing from the regional programme due to their progress at this level.

A player’s progress is carefully monitored at every opportunity the coaches have to observe the player in action.  Feedback is constant and profiles of players are maintained in order to document their progress and assist with their development.  As and when a player leaves the programme they are advised about what further opportunities are available to them so that they are able to continue playing the sport and developing if they wish to.

Selection for the many representative squads at Under 19 England level takes place from this centre.  The opportunity to be invited to train with the Senior National Squad also occurs here because the England Head Coach, Selectors and Players also coach at National and Regional Centex.

Training for National Centex takes place a minimum of 3 times per year in January, April and August.  On the former 2 occasions training is over 2 days whereas this extends to 3 days in August.  Other training can include fixtures and competitions, in addition to further general practice in the build up to important events such as World Championships.
Training includes areas of technical, tactical and physical play.  There is also video analysis of players and talks, some from outside specialists, about such topics as training, diet and nutrition.  General discussions are regularly held in order to help players balance their many commitments whilst aspiring to play representative lacrosse.  Coaches can always be contacted during and outside of the training, should a player have a query/concern.

The following players have been invited to attend the national programme for 2010/2011

Please note the following:

• The squad starts at 9.00a.m. on all days.  Please arrive before this time.
  
• The squad finishes at approximately 4.00p.m. on all days.
• Bring with you footwear and clothing for indoor and outdoor participation.
• Food is not provided.
• Items of kit exclusive to Senior England Elite and Centex squad members will be on sale in addition to other lacrosse related items.  Cheques should be made payable to Centex.
• Money is non refundable.
• Although you are not guaranteed a place on future squads it is expected that, except in execptional circumstances, players aspiring to national representation will make themselves available for this training in order to provide continuity in their development – please take note of all dates on the web site.
