Fundamentals of Coaching Lacrosse
The course is designed to teach the basic principles and behind coaching and educate in how to set up a safe, fun and engaging coaching session.
What will I learn from the course?
The practical methodology of basic skills – 4 hours
Holding the stick/Cradling
Catching
Throwing
Ground Balls
Safe Checking
Dodging
Changing Hands
The Theoretical Elements via webinar: - 2 hours
Communication (VAK etc)
Session Planning (using the Resource pack)
Write a session plan

What do I need to do to complete the course?
• Attend Fundamentals theory webinar
• Attend 1 day tutor-led practical
To be a coach at any level, you will also have to:
• Produce session plans
• Complete the England Lacrosse online ‘Safeguarding’ course
The course also comes with a set of coaching resource cards to aid learning and access to our online learning resources and videos.
Learners should book onto scheduled assessment days at a time and place convenient to them in order to complete their qualification.
Course Prerequisites
• Must be in school year 10 or above on day of certification

NOTE: All England Lacrosse coaching qualifications require annual proof of the following certification in order to remain current:
A recognised safeguarding course – An EL Safeguarding course is available HERE
A recognised first aid course
Disclosure and Barring Service certificate (DBS) - England Lacrosse DBS Checks Process
Cost - £100 (England Lacrosse Members)
£159 (Non-England Lacrosse Members)
