OFFICIATING

Be an Official

Officiating is a vital part of the game - Without proficient, effective, and skilled officials, lacrosse would not be as exciting and quick as it can be!

England Lacrosse offer courses, resources and guidance to anyone wanting to get involved in officiating, at any level.

Our pathway allows people to work their way to the top of the English officiating game and may even open doors to the European, World, or Olympic stage at various international tournaments.

If you’re feeling ready to take your first steps into officiating and become a lacrosse official or if you want to progress onto a higher level of officiating, see the latest course information below.

Contact your local Regional Association for information regarding accessing bursaries to subsidise the cost of the course.

Officiating Pathway

Umpires officiate matches playing the women’s and mixed rules. Referees officiate matches playing the men’s rules. Both referees and umpires can officiate matches playing the Sixes rules.

The pathway to becoming a lacrosse official is similar for umpires and referees. Check out the requirements for each course below.

If you want to learn more about officiating and the different disciplines within it, have a read through the information below or get in touch with Brin Kenyon at [email protected]
