ENGLAND LACROSSE STRATEGY
READY TO GROW, READY TO COMPETE,
THROUGH TO 2030.
Lacrosse in England is entering a defining period. With growing interest in the sport and the return of lacrosse to the Olympic programme in 2028, there is a significant opportunity to expand participation, strengthen communities and compete successfully on the international stage.
Our approach is built around four strategic priorities - More People, Higher Profile, Drive Performance, Organisational Health - that together will grow participation, strengthen performance, raise the profile of the sport and ensure a sustainable organisation capable of supporting the future of lacrosse in England.
Lacrosse in England has a strong and passionate community. Clubs, schools, universities, volunteers and athletes are already driving the game forward across the country.
This strategy builds on that momentum. By growing participation, strengthening performance, raising the profile of the sport and building a more sustainable organisation, we want to create more opportunities for people not just to try lacrosse, but to stay involved and feel part of it.
By improving pathways, supporting key transition points and focusing on high-quality experiences, we’ll turn ambition into something that lasts.
Together, we’ll continue to grow and support lacrosse communities, inspire the next generation, and back the people who make the sport happen. Lacrosse is ready not just to grow, but to sustain that growth and compete on the world stage.
READY TO GROW, READY TO COMPETE
VISION - LACROSSE FOR ALL, EVERYWHERE
Our vision is to make lacrosse part of everyday life in communities across the country. By opening up access and supporting local growth, we are building a sport where everyone feels they belong.
MISSION - GROWING INCLUSIVE, SUSTAINED LACROSSE COMMUNITIES
We nurture local lacrosse communities by empowering clubs, schools, volunteers and leaders to grow the game in their own localities. Inclusion remains central, but success will also be measured by how many people stay, contribute and thrive within the sport. A lasting impact.
OUR VALUES
INCLUSIVITY
We champion lacrosse as a sport where everyone is welcome. Our commitment to inclusivity means actively removing barriers, listening to underrepresented voices, and building environments where people feel seen, valued, and safe.
COLLABORATION
We are stronger together. By working across players, coaches, clubs, schools and communities, we will build partnerships that share ideas, resources and opportunities to grow the game.
EXCELLENCE
We pursue excellence through developing talent, delivering quality experiences and building a culture where character, discipline and performance drive continuous improvement.
MORE PEOPLE - 100,000 REGULAR PARTICIPANTS
We want to see more people pick up a stick and discover lacrosse. We aim to hit 100,000 regular lacrosse participants. We’ll get there through sustained engagement by backing our communities, empowering volunteers, and expanding opportunities in education - working together to make lacrosse open and welcoming.
HIGHER PROFILE - LEVERAGE THE OLYMPIC ERA TO ELEVATE THE SPORT’S IMAGE
From global stages to grassroots communities, and at major events like The Fly, we are telling stories that resonate and grow the game’s reach and better enable conversation and engagement.
We will spotlight the people behind the game, empowering athletes to share their journeys, build their profiles and inspire others.
SUSTAINED GROWTH - A FUTURE-READY ORGANISATION
We’re building a future-ready England Lacrosse. Stronger, more connected and open to new ideas. We’ll work with lacrosse communities to share tools, grow confidence and lead together. With smart digital systems and inclusive ways of working, we’ll make it easier to join, play, volunteer and lead.
DRIVE PERFORMANCE - EXCELLENCE IN BOTH CHARACTER AND PERFORMANCE
We will build a performance system grounded in excellence in character, behaviours and performance supported by a strong, retained and highly capable workforce that enables England teams to compete with the best in the world.
