England Lacrosse is committed to developing excellence in coaching and officiating, providing courses and resources to support volunteers and professionals working in the lacrosse community.
Using a combination of ‘face-to-face’ and online delivery, training is available for coaching, teaching and officiating at all levels. Contact your regional association for information regarding accessing bursaries to subsidise the cost of the course.
Which course is right for me?

The perfect course for learning the basic principles of coaching individuals with little or no prior knowledge of lacrosse. The Introduction to Lacrosse will enable the learner to deliver entry level versions of the game and support full field coaches

For learners with experience of the full field game. The Coaching Field Lacrosse course will be split for the men’s and women’s field game and focus on the coaching of team training and preparation for games

Aimed at coaches with the experience, skills and ambition to coach talented athletes and performance level squads; from our Aspire Pathway through to senior internationals
Schools
We offer bespoke courses aimed at the school sector which are tailored dependent on the needs of the individuals and the school.
Teacher Continued Professional Development – for qualified, trainee teachers or multi-skilled coaches looking to add basic lacrosse into the school curriculum or in an after-school club.
Young Leaders Lacrosse – a bespoke course designed for teacher delivery to enable pupils to deliver lacrosse-based activity to their peers under the supervision of a responsible adult within the school environment.

As an England Lacrosse coach, you will have access to expert mentoring and training days as well as video workshops and the opportunity to earn up to £150 a day as a Lead Coach.

Overview
Coach Education Tutors deliver England Lacrosse coaching qualifications and learning opportunities, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to coach safely, effectively and positively.
Through practical and classroom-based learning, tutors support coaches to apply their learning within real coaching environments while promoting England Lacrosse values and coaching principles.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver coach education courses and workshops.
Facilitate practical activities and group discussions.
Support coaches to apply learning in their own environments.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance.
Promote inclusion, safeguarding and learner welfare.
Complete course administration and learner records.
Ideal Experience
We welcome interest from individuals with experience in:
Coaching lacrosse or other sports.
Delivering coaching in club, school, university or performance settings.
Teaching, training or facilitating learning.
Delivering workshops or professional development programmes.

Overview
Officials Education Tutors support the development of referees and umpires by delivering training that builds confidence, competence and understanding of officiating within lacrosse.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Youth Officials and Entry Level Officials courses.
Facilitate learning around rules, positioning and game management.
Support practical officiating activities.
Provide feedback and development support.
Promote positive officiating behaviours and standards.
Complete course administration requirements.
Ideal Experience
We welcome interest from individuals with:
Current or previous officiating experience.
Referee or umpire qualifications.
Experience developing or mentoring officials.
Teaching, training or facilitation experience.

Overview
Assessors help ensure England Lacrosse qualifications are awarded fairly, consistently and in line with quality assurance requirements.
They play a vital role in maintaining the credibility and integrity of our education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Observe and assess learners in practical environments.
Review submitted evidence and assessment tasks.
Provide objective and developmental feedback.
Make assessment decisions against qualification standards.
Maintain accurate records.
Participate in quality assurance and standardisation activities.
Ideal Experience

Coaching or officiating qualifications.
Assessment or quality assurance experience.
Experience observing and evaluating performance.
Strong communication and feedback skills.

Mentors support coaches, officials and volunteers through their development journey by providing guidance, challenge and encouragement.
Mentoring helps individuals build confidence, develop reflective practice and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one or group mentoring support.
Facilitate reflective conversations.
Help individuals identify development goals and actions.
Signpost learning opportunities and resources.
Share experience and good practice.
Support learner progression and retention.
