England Lacrosse is committed to developing excellence in coaching and officiating, providing courses and resources to support volunteers and professionals working in the lacrosse community.
Using a combination of ‘face-to-face’ and online delivery, training is available for coaching, teaching and officiating at all levels.
For lacrosse delivery, England Lacrosse offers bespoke levels of training tailored to the needs of the game:
Fundamentals of Lacrosse - The perfect course for learning the basic principles of coaching for individuals with little or no prior knowledge of lacrosse. The Introduction to Lacrosse will enable the learner to deliver entry level versions of the game and support full field coaches
Coaching Field Lacrosse - For learners with experience of playing the full field game. The Coaching Field Lacrosse course will be split for the men’s and women’s field game and focus on the coaching of team training and preparation for games
Coaching Talent - Aimed at coaches with the experience, skills and ambition to coach talented athletes and performance level squads; from our Talent Pathway through to senior internationals
One day’s face-to-face session with one of our experienced tutors at a choice of venues around the country
Learn the different fundamental skills of lacrosse and ways to deliver and develop them
A chance to practice the delivery of lacrosse sessions both as a team and as an individual
Receive a set of England Lacrosse resource cards with skills and activities, along with a detailed action plan to support your delivery
Begin with a face-to-face practical assessment of your current knowledge and skills
Development of a personalised Action Plan from your initial assessment and one-on-one discussion with your coaching mentor
Access to England Lacrosse e-learning portal and online support from your mentor to develop your skills, knowledge and experience
Further face-to-face practical assessment if required
Flexibility to book an assessment on a wide range of dates and locations throughout the year
Course entry by application, assessed by England Lacrosse Talent & Performance staff
Three face-to-face sessions delivered by experienced tutors
Course content and methodologies created by and aligned with the England Lacrosse Talent & Performance programme
Opportunity to work with experienced national squad coaches
Development of a personalised Action Plan and assigned coaching mentor to work with you throughout the course
