Bouncing off the Walls - Wall Ball Challenge

Over the past year, it’s been pretty clear that most of us are bouncing off the walls and are desperate for things to do.

Well, here at England Lacrosse, we’re bouncing off the walls in a different way as we aim to raise money for the Raspberry Pi Foundation who are funding computer technology packages for vulnerable young people during the third national lockdown in the space of a year.

We’re asking you to join us as we try to achieve one million wall balls, raising £20,000 in the process.

For every £200 raised, a young person will receive their own Raspberry Pi computer kit.

To take on the challenge all you have to do is donate (or ask your family and friends to sponsor you) £1 for every 100 wall balls you complete, whether that’s with a lacrosse stick, a tennis racket, or simply your hands.

If you don’t fancy that, then why not show your support for #bouncingoffthewalls by donating an amount of your choice to our dedicated JustGiving page instead?

#bouncingoffthewalls - Get Involved!

If you want to take on the challenge and turn the fact that you’re #bouncingoffthewalls into something positive, then all you have to do is complete as many wall balls as you can and donate (or ask your family and friends to sponsor you) £1 for every 100 that you do.

What is wall ball?

Wall ball is an exercise that lacrosse players do to improve their hand/eye co-ordination where they throw a ball from their stick against a wall and catch the rebound.

It isn’t unheard of lacrosse players doing 1,000 or even 2,000 wall balls in a single session!

How can I get involved?

It doesn’t matter if you have a lacrosse stick or not, anything can be used to take part in our challenge whether that’s a tennis racket, a cricket bat, or even your hands!

It’s a great way to keep active during the national lockdown and is a way to help us raise money for vulnerable young people who need up to date technology now maybe more than ever.

For every 100 wall balls you complete, we’re asking you to donate £1, with the aim of raising £20,000 by mid-February which would fund 100 of the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s technology packages.

Don’t forget to video yourself taking part in the challenge and use the hashtag #bouncingoffthewalls when posting on social media so we can find you.
