The 2025/26 Winter Box League, hosted by the South of England Men’s Lacrosse Association (SEMLA), is searching for referees to take charge of games over this year’s four game days.
In addition to referees, SEMLA is also looking to appoint a more experienced box referee as the Referee in Charge (RiC) for this season’s competition.
Referees will need to be available on one or more of the four 2025/26 Winter Box League dates on Sunday 7 & Sunday 14 December and Sunday 11 & Sunday 18 January from 11am-6pm.
Winter Box League referee fees are £40 per game (or equivalent to 4x15minutes of play) plus up to £25 to support travel costs; the schedule usually allows for a referee to take charge of the equivalent of two full games per game day.
SEMLA’s Winter Box League heads into its fourth season in 2025/26 after three hugely successful years that has seen the competition grow to include more teams and both men’s and women’s sections.
The reigning champions in the men’s competition is Heaton Hornets who claimed a first title last season after London Knights dominated the first two tournaments while Ravens picked up a first women’s gong last year after an inaugural win for B-Oxford Blaze in 2022/2023.
