Forty girls from the England U19 National Academy programme are currently on a tour to the USA in preparation for the 2018 U20 European Championships next month and next year’s 2019 Under 19 World Championships in Canada. Each day, members of the squad will be tracking their experiences on tour.

Day 5

After tough games the night before, we all woke eager to begin another day of playing lacrosse.

Breakfast consisted of an extensive spread of food to fuel us throughout the day, especially the chocolate milk which was a favourite amongst the squad.

In the morning we rotated around different stations working on man up, man down situations and it was great to learn from some of the best players in the nation who have extensive knowledge of the game.

With a short break for lunch out of the sun, we participated in another set of drills working on off-ball movement and picks.

Just before dinner we played some fun mini games with our new teammates which quickly became competitive; even the coaches got a little heated!

Dinner gave us a new boost of energy and we were ready for our night games.

When we weren’t playing in a match, we competed in the fastest shot competition and had time to talk with our coaches about their college experiences. By the end of the day we were all ready to head to bed, excited for the final day of tournament games tomorrow.
