England Lacrosse is delighted to announce the 2026 National Schools Lacrosse Championships, the UK’s premier schools lacrosse tournament, will take place from 7 to 10 March 2026 at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre.
82 years and counting…
Heading into its 83rd year, the National Schools Lacrosse Championships remains the pinnacle of schoolgirl lacrosse. Ever since Bedford Technical College claimed the first title in 1944, the event has continued to grow, with around 200 teams competing each year and making memories that will last a lifetime.
The Championships return to Aldershot Garrison, its now familiar home, after first taking place in GU11 back in 2019.
Reigning champions Queen Anne’s, who won their first ever Under 19 National Schools crown by defeating St Catherine’s 3-2 in a dramatic final in March, will undoubtedly be back in 2026 trying to do something that no school has done since Godolphin School in 2011: retain the U19A Championship title.
In fact since 2011, the top honours have changed hands 13 times with 10 different schools etching their name into the storied history of the competition.
But our National Schools Championships are about so much more than just the winners. With 12 tournaments across five age groups taking place during the four days, more than 3,000 young athletes from 12 years old and upwards are able to create their own National Schools story that stays with them long after their school days, giving them those moments that mean everything.
More details about next year’s Championships will be announced in due course with school registration opening next week!
New year. New Look.
While the Championships has such a rich history, we also love to look forward! And as we launch the National Schools Lacrosse Championships for 2026, we’re also excited to unveil a new look for the competition that both celebrates the legacy of the sport and provides a platform to highlight those new magical moments that showcase the best of girls lacrosse in the UK.
Keep an eye out over the next few months as we lead up to our 2026 Championships for exciting event details across our website and social channels like the ones threaded through this piece.
