England Lacrosse is delighted to announce the 22-player squad selected for the 2025 ELF European Men’s Lacrosse Championship in Wroclaw, Poland.
England Men head to the tournament, taking place across 9-19 July, as the reigning champions after taking gold against Israel with a 7-6 victory all the way back in 2016 in Hungary.
Head Coach Sam Patterson has named a strong England team to head to Poland for this summer’s Championship, which also functions as the official European qualifying event for the 2027 Men’s World Championship in Japan.
Reflecting on his squad selection Patterson said: “I’m proud to announce England’s 22-man roster for the upcoming European Championships. Selecting this team was an incredibly difficult task, given the depth of talent across the player pool.
“We’ve focused on building a balanced group that blends experience with emerging talent, giving us the best chance to retain the European title in Poland and secure qualification for the 2027 World Championships in Japan.
“This group reflects the high standards we’re setting for England Lacrosse, and we hope to make the English lacrosse community proud this July.”
The 2016 champions were drawn into Group A alongside opponents Netherlands, Latvia, Finland, and Bulgaria for the group stages.
The squad contains 10 members of the 2023 Senior World Championship squad that played in San Diego, and eight players from the 2022 U21 Worlds squad now stepping up into the senior programme.
There are also three squad members, Alex Russell, Tim Collins and William Baxter who also featured back in the 2018 Senior World Championship.
Baxter, who is making his fourth major tournament appearance, is the sole survivor from England’s last Euros campaign back in 2016, where he was MVP in the final with a 77% save percentage to help England beat Israel.
