Travel - Frequently Asked Questions:

Can we still travel to play lacrosse?
Yes. However, there are some restrictions in place. Do not travel into or out of a single Tier 3 area. When travelling within a Tier 3 area aim to travel within your household group or support bubble.

When travelling in or between Level 1 and/or Level 2 areas follow the government guidance. You may travel through a Level 3 area to do this.

My team is based in a Tier 3 (Very High) area, what does this mean?
Any team in a Tier 3 area can continue to play lacrosse under RTP Phase 4 guidance. However, it can only be activity within the team or matches against teams within the same single Tier 3 area. This includes friendlies and competitive league matches.

You should not travel between neighbouring Level 3 areas, even if they share a border.

Are there any exemptions allowing travel for sport into or out of a Tier 3 (Very High) area?
There is an exemption to travel restrictions for under 18s, disability sport, elite sport, and sport for education purposes. These groups can travel into or out of a Level 3 area for their lacrosse activity.

Parents are likely to be required to provide transport for this and it is recommended that people only travel in household groups or support bubbles when they are coming from a Level 3 area.

I live in a Tier 3 (Very High) area but my club is in a Tier 1 (Medium) or Tier 2 (High) area (or vice versa). Can I still train or play with my team?
No, you should not travel into or out of a Tier 3 area (unless it meets one of the exemptions listed above).

Can we travel from one Tier 3 (Very High) area to another?
You should not travel between neighbouring Tier 3 areas, even if they share a border. Each Level 3 area is seen as separate, they are not one continuous area.

***Can under 18s teams play each other if one is from a Tier 3 (Very High) area and another from Tier 1 (Medium) or Tier 2 (High) area?
Due to the travel exemption listed above, under 18 teams are permitted to play each other, even if one of the teams is from a Tier 3 area.

Parents are likely to be required to provide transport for this and it is recommended that people only travel in household groups or support bubbles when they are coming from a Tier 3 area.

England Lacrosse recommends that both teams must be comfortable with playing the fixture before it goes ahead. Teams must communicate accordingly in advance to understand their views regarding each fixture and should make contact with their Regional Association if there are any issues or disputes.

Can I travel into or out of a Tier 3 (Very High) area as part of paid lacrosse activity?
Individuals, such as coaches and officials, can travel into or out of a Tier 3 area as part of paid lacrosse activity under wider government guidance.

I am a volunteer coach living in Tier 3 (Very High) but need to travel to Tier 2 (High) to coach Under 18s, is this allowed?

Yes, under the listed Sport England exemptions, travel is permitted where it is necessary to enable supervised sport for Under 18s.

Are spectators still permitted as a result of the new Tiered system?

Yes. Spectators are permitted in Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas following the rule of 6 and social distancing guidelines.

Spectators are permitted in Tier 3 areas within household groups or support bubbles but may not travel into or out of a Tier 3 area to spectate.
