Boys’ Academy

The Boys’ Academy is the first step on the England Lacrosse Talent Pathway for boys aged 13-18.

Schools and clubs nominate talented players to complete an assessment, where the coaches assess the boys and invite successful players to join the Talent Pathway.

The Boys’ Academy programme offers identified performers the opportunity to realise what is required to be a future senior England player.

At the 2019 Men’s Lacrosse U20 European Championships, 91% of the England squad came from the Boys Academy, demonstrating the clear route from Academy to the England international set-up.

The programme aims to take individuals from club to the Academy and help them transition through the Talent Pathway and potentially into the National Squad.

39% of the Senior England squad that travelled to the 2018 Men’s European Lacrosse Championship were Talent Pathway graduates.
