County Talent Academies

The County Talent Academies replaced the existing Regional Assessment days in 2020 and are the first rung on the ladder for lacrosse players aged 12 & 13 years old.

This change benefits young athletes as they will be assessed over 4 days to give them an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, specifically decision making under pressure, athleticism and resilience.

THE PROCESS

  • The County Talent Academies are open to children in year eight (aged 12 & 13 year olds);

  • As with the previous Regional Assessment days, schools and clubs will be asked to nominate talented players;

  • Girls will then be sent an invitation and registration details;

  • From the County Talent Academies, each centre will identify players who will then be invited to join the Regional Academy.

England Lacrosse has selected 7 Girls County Academies across the country:

  • North (Armitage Centre, Manchester)

  • Worcester/Gloucestershire (Rendcomb College)

  • Oxfordshire/Buckingham/Berkshire (St Helen’s & St Katharine’s)

  • Bedfordshire/Hetfordshire (St George’s School, Harpenden)

  • London (North London Collegiate School)

  • Surrey/West Sussex/Kent (Cobham Lacrosse Club)
