England Lacrosse at CarFest 2026

Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire | 28-30 August

Welcome to England Lacrosse, and thank you for visiting us at CarFest 2026 and taking part in our lacrosse activities.

We hope you've enjoyed discovering our exciting, fast-paced team sport and are inspired to keep playing! With lacrosse set to return to the Olympic Games at LA28 for the first time in over a century, there's never been a better time to get involved.

So, you tried some lacrosse at CarFest 2026 and you want to play again, but what equipment do you need and where should you get it from?

You only need three things to play lacrosse: 1. Yourself; 2. A stick; 3. A ball. If you want a goal, we recommend using any kind of target (some jumpers, a wall, anything you can think of!).

In terms of where you should get your equipment from, we at England Lacrosse have a partnership with sports equipment company Newitts who have a selection of low-cost lacrosse equipment including sticks and balls. Check them out HERE.

Here are five quick and easy games you can play with another person if you’re just starting out playing lacrosse.

  1. The Bucket Target Challenge
    How to play
: Place any household object (a plastic bucket, a cardboard box, or a lawn chair) on the floor. Take turns stepping back five to 10 paces and throwing the ball to hit the target. First player to hit the target five times wins.

  2. The Bounce and Catch Streak
    How to play
: Stand five metres apart. Toss the ball to your partner, but let it bounce once on the floor before they catch it. Count your successful catches out loud together. Try to beat your highest collective streak.

  3. Egg Drop (The Distance Game)
    How to play
: Start standing two metre apart. Pass the ball to each other. Every time a catch is made, the person who caught it takes one big step backward. If the ball is dropped, both players must step back to the starting line. See how far apart you can get before a drop happens.

  4. Hungry Hungry Hippos (Ground Ball Race)
    How to play
: Both players stand side-by-side. One player throws the ball forward into the open. On the count of "three!", both players race to scoop up the rolling or stopped ball. Each clean scoop counts as one point. First to 10 points wins.

  5. Quick Stix
How to play: Similar to the bounce and catch streak, minus the bounce. Both players stand five metres apart. Pass the ball back and forth to each other as quickly as you can. Count how many passes you make. Try to beat your highest collective streak.
