England Lacrosse is excited to announce the appointment of Martin Mochan as the England Men’s Performance Team Manager.
He’ll be working with England Men’s Performance Head Coach Sam Patterson and the talented pool of English players as they look towards and begin their preparations for the World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in 2027.
Mochan first got involved in lacrosse 20 years ago after his young family moved back up north from London in 2005.
He started as an eager parent wanting to support his two sons playing lacrosse but quickly graduated to leading the Mellor Lacrosse Club’s Junior Boys Programme.
A background in international events came in handy as he took on more responsibility at Mellor, especially around the logistics and funding of overseas events.
After helping to develop a strong Programme at Mellor, including organising several UK and overseas tours, Mochan helped to deliver the last England Knights tour to the festival at the 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s U21 Championship in Limerick, Ireland.
He’s spent much of the last 20 years watching and supporting his boys through their club and BUCS careers and took on the role of Mellor President which came to an end in summer 2024.
Mochan’s youngest son Jamie captained England at this year’s 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in Korea and he feels the time is right to throw himself into the journey that lies ahead for the senior men’s team.
“I'm very much looking forward to the road to Tokyo and beyond. Sam and his team have put together a really strong tour and training schedule and I'm excited to help navigate that as well as support the player group as we build towards the next World Championship in 2027.”
