Brooklands and Stockport secured respective men’s and women’s senior competition titles in the 2026 September Sixes competition at Stockport Lacrosse Club over the weekend.

In the junior tournaments, Heaton Mersey were the big winners picking up the U12 & U16 Boys and U13 Girls trophies with Oxton claiming the U15 & U18 Girls titles and Mellor scoring the U14 Boys top gong.

62 teams from 17 clubs took part in the annual six-a-side event and history was made as the first overseas club travelled to Greater Manchester to take part; Smichov, based in Prague, Czechia entered teams in the U14 Boys, U15 Girls, U18 Girls, and Senior Women’s competitions.

Showing the strength of lacrosse within the university sector, seven teams from four universities, including Exeter, Keele, Loughborough, and Nottingham, took part in the senior competitions with Bromley Lacrosse Club making an almost 500-mile round-trip as they entered a senior men’s team for the first time alongside their junior teams.

Stockport Lacrosse Club sent its thanks to Roderick Zuskar who made it possible for Smichov to travel to the competition, local northern clubs who continue to support the tournament, the officials who took charge of games, and the team of volunteers who work so hard in the run-up to and delivering the event.
