England Box Lacrosse is hosting an open men’s training session led by England Coach Rob Ingham Clark and England General Manager Rob Gooch from 1-4pm on Sunday 18 October at the Oxford Academy 3G Dome.

The session is suitable for all lacrosse players aged 18 and above who want to get a formal introduction to the box format of the sport, with existing box players welcome and encouraged to come along too.

Box lacrosse is a version of the sport typically played indoors on a covered ice hockey rink with each team having six players (including the goalie) on the floor at any one time.

In England, there are two box lacrosse-specific venues, the Oxford Academy 3G Dome and Macclesfield Rugby Club, with both hosting competitions and England training sessions throughout the year.

The skills learned in the field lacrosse game are transferable to the box format with many players, such as USA’s Charlotte North, England’s Tom Bracegirdle, and Canada’s Jeff Teat, being successful across codes.

During the three-hour open session, Ingham Clark and Gooch will cover the basics of box lacrosse and will build up to a series of mini-games to finish.

Both Ingham Clark and Gooch are fresh off the back of travelling to Prague, Czechia as England competed in the 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championship; they were also both involved in England’s 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships campaign in Utica, USA.

To attend, individuals must submit the sign-up form below and make a payment of £20 to cover the cost of hiring the venue before Sunday 18 October.
