First weeks, next steps: Reading welcomes 25 newcomers

Reading University Lacrosse Club Freshers' Fair stall

The University of Reading Lacrosse Club, known as RULAX, has reported an encouraging start to the academic year, with around 25 new people attending its taster session following two weeks of freshers activities.

First Weeks, Next Steps follows England Lacrosse’s Student Ambassadors and their university clubs as they welcome new players, sharing how students discover lacrosse, give it a go and find their place in the sport.

Reading’s taster session gave newcomers an opportunity to try lacrosse and find out more about playing at university. Alongside the session attendance, the club has also reported encouraging sign-ups for its men’s team.

For students considering a new sport, a taster session offers an introduction before deciding whether to continue.

The club’s freshers update provides a positive opening chapter. The next is how those interested students settle into university lacrosse.

We look forward to hearing more from Reading as the term progresses and students build on their first experience.
