Lacrosse is back as 2026/27 domestic season begins

The 2026/27 domestic lacrosse season begins this Saturday 26 September with 35 senior games taking place in 10 leagues around the country.

A full fixture list returns in the North West Lacrosse Association (NWLA) with five matches in the new look Premier division.

In the 10-team division, phase one sees everyone plays everyone twice before the league splits for phase two and the top five teams form a Championship group and bottom five teams form a relegation group; after four more games within the two groups, one team will be crowned league champions and one will be relegated.

Games will also be played in the Women’s division, Division 1, and Division 1A with a whole host of junior fixtures being played on Saturday and Sunday.

With the South of England Men’s Lacrosse Association (SEMLA) Premier and Divisions 1, 2 , and 3 leagues not formally beginning until next Saturday 3 October, the Local Leagues take centre stage with SE1, SE2, SE3, and SW all beginning their seasons.

South West Lacrosse begins its season this Saturday too, with four fixtures in round one including Cheltenham v Southampton, Bristol v Oxford/Phoenix, Bath v Birmingham, and Cardiff Harlequins v Cirencester.

SEMLA’s Midlands Local League begins on 11 October and the South East Women’s Lacrosse Association (SEWLA) leagues start within the next couple of weeks.
