Take the Understanding Mental Health in Young Players course

England Head Coach Sam Patterson speaks to two England players

As part of the Mental Health Foundation’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, we’re encouraging our community to engage with a whole range of resources.

Yesterday, we highlighted the bank of resources the Mental Health Foundation has on its website as well as our two downloadable documents for clubs and teams and today it’s the turn of our England Lacrosse Understanding Mental Health in Young Players course.

The Understanding Mental Health in Young Players course is completely free of charge for England Lacrosse members and provides a clear, accessible introduction to mental health, focusing on the specific needs and vulnerabilities of younger people and the role sport can play in supporting positive mental wellbeing.

Mental health is an increasingly important concern, particularly for children, young people, and teenagers. Those who coach and support young players are often well placed to notice changes in behaviour and wellbeing and our new course will guide individuals through how they can help.
