Phil Collier has named a 23-strong squad for England Women’s tour to California including facing World Champions USA.

National Team Director, Collier, has selected his group for a five-match tour of California in January that will conclude with participation at the Spring Premiere against the US and Stanford University.

It will be England Women’s first full international outside of the UK since their bronze medal nearly 18 months ago, with nine of the 2017 squad present for the January tour and still led by now two-time FIL All-World midfielder Laura Merrifield.

It is also a squad full of plenty of fresh talent and exuberance with a number of names in line to pick up their first full senior international caps.

Team England will begin in Los Angeles against University of Southern California on 20 January, before travelling up to San Francisco for scrimmages at UC Davis (22 January) and University of California, Berkeley (24 January).

The tour will then culminate in the Spring Premiere at Stanford, Palo Alto across the 25/26 January as the squad looks to test themselves against the world’s best.

In 2019, the senior squad will be looking to defend titles at the Home Internationals series on home soil, before the European Championships in Israel.
