England Men’s Under 23 Head Coach, Richard Gartside, has announced his squad for the new squad to tour Japan in June.
Gartside has named a final 26-strong group for the tour after a number of training weekends, culminating in a scrimmage victory against the Wales World Cup squad last weekend.
The squad contains 12 players from England’s U19 squad that finished 5th at the 2016 U19 World Championships with the Under 23 programme giving the players the opportunity for more international level competition before moving up to the senior programme.
Gartside has also confirmed his coaching staff for the tour; Chris Wainer, Stuart McGregor Dallas and Martin Cragg.
The newly formed Under 23 squad will join up with the women’s squad for the joint tour which will feature a number of games across the week including a headline fixture against the Japan senior national squads.
