The Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) has announced the selection of officials for the 2019 FIL Women’s Lacrosse U19 World Championships with a number of English officials earning inclusion.

The 55-strong officiating team includes four English on-field officials; Paul Bibby, Paul Jenkins, Paul Monaghan and Alex Waterman.

In addition, Jane McCarthy and Wendy Reynolds are part of the officials Leadership team, all overseen by FIL Women’s Officiating Chair, Stephen Taylor.

“I am honoured to once again have the opportunity to lead such skilled and dedicated groups of individuals,” said Stephen Taylor.

“Our officials come from eleven different countries, covering four continents. When I first officiated at the first U19 World Championship at Haverford in 1995, we had just twelve officials from seven countries.

Don Blacklock, Technical Director for the FIL added, “Congratulations to all of the officials selected to participate at the largest ever U19 Women’s World Championship.

Our goal is that we provide the very best officials for each FIL competition and that each official will return to their country with some new or additional techniques and skills for teaching others the rules and nuances of umpiring women’s lacrosse.”

The 2019 Women’s U19 World Championships take place in Peterborough, Canada between 1-10 August.
