England head coach Steve Lydon names his coaching staff

Steve Lydon has today announced the staff that will be supporting him with the England Senior Mens squad in their preparation for the European Lacrosse Championship 2020.

Joining Steve as Associate Head Coach is Doug Shananhan – Doug is a genuine legend of the game, being the inaugural Tewaaraton winner, 2 time member of Team USA and World Best midfielder of the year. He has also played professional American Football for New York Jets. With his experience and expertise he will be a great addition to Steve’s team.

Sam Patterson will also join the coaching team. Sam is currently Nottingham Trent Head Coach and has a good level of experiential background having played for England in 4 World Championships. He will develop well with the coaching experience around him.

England are the current European Champions having defeated Israel 7-6 in the Final of the European Championship 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. The next European Lacrosse Championship will be held in August 2020, Wroclow, Poland.
