Jane McCarthy appointed England Men's Team Manager

Jane McCarthy has been appointed as Team Manager of the England Senior Men’s national squad.

Working with the national team staff and England Lacrosse, Jane will lead on the logistics, planning and budget management for the men’s national squad, helping to deliver successful programme operations for the reigning European champions.

Jane has more than 30 years’ experience working in the financial services, sport, and education in operational, leadership, and board roles.

As qualified as a programme manager, accountant and banking professional, she has extensive knowledge and experience delivering complex and cross-divisional programmes across a wide range of projects.

From a sporting perspective, Jane has been significantly involved in the administration of lacrosse across the last five years, first serving as a Board Member and Secretary for the South East Women’s Lacrosse Association from 2015-16.

Subsequently, she volunteered as a Team Liaison Manager at the 2017 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in Guildford and joined the England Lacrosse Events Advisory Committee in December 2017.

Following her work in 2017, Jane then led as Team Manager for the umpires and technical officials at the 2019 U19 Women’s Lacrosse Championship in Canada, graduated from the Sport Business Institute of Barcelona in Sports and Business Management in June 2019, and became a Trustee of the Lacrosse Foundation in November 2019.

Jane’s experience will be vital in assisting the programme through a busy cycle with the rearranged European Championship in Poland in 2021, followed by the 2023 World Championship in Los Angeles.
