Home Countries Lacrosse Ltd (HCL) is the recently created official national coordinating body for men’s and women’s elite lacrosse in Great Britain.

HCL builds on a rich heritage of elite lacrosse in Great Britain and operates within the spirit of ‘achieving more together’. It complements and supports the ambitions and plans for lacrosse in England, Scotland and Wales by providing the opportunity for their most talented players to become part of British squads where they will benefit from a best-in-class performance pathway to compete at the next World Games, and with a longer-term view to being part of Team GB at the Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of the two Head Coaches, we are now seeking assistant coaches and additional support staff for the men’s and women’s teams, specifically in preparation for the World Games in Alabama, USA, in 2022.

Lacrosse was first played at the World Games in 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland with a women’s competition in which Great Britain finished 4th.

In line with World Lacrosse’s bid for the game to be reinstated as an Olympic sport and to appear in the programme of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the 2022 World Games will be played based on the newly proposed six-a-side Olympic rules.

Assistant Coaches

HCL are appointing an Assistant Coach to both the women’s and men’s teams. The position will report to the relevant Head Coach, namely Phil Collier and Tom Wenham respectively.

In line with the rules of the World Games, Assistant Coaches are expected to take on a wider remit to include elements of management, logistics and commercial support, working alongside their Head Coach.

Candidates must have a proven track record of successfully coaching elite lacrosse teams and be able to demonstrate experience and capabilities in these wider, additional functions.

To apply, please send your CV along with a cover letter that specifies your skills, experience and motivation for the role as described, to Sallie Barker, Chair of HCL Ltd - [email protected]
