England Lacrosse appointed 'Nominated Country' as part of Olympic Framework ahead of LA28

British Lacrosse has agreed to grant England Lacrosse “Nominated Country” status as the sport continues its journey towards the 2028 Olympic Games.

The new historic agreement, voted for by the British Lacrosse Board following a series of meetings in February, and announced by British Lacrosse on Friday, means that England Lacrosse will take the lead on Governance and Performance ahead of LA 2028.

Setting out an understanding between British Lacrosse, England Lacrosse, Lacrosse Scotland, and Wales Lacrosse, the agreement details how the four organisations will work together to achieve Olympic success and how they will co-operate to make the most of the opportunities the Olympic journey offers in the coming months and years.

England Lacrosse, as nominated country, will oversee the day-to-day business of British Lacrosse, maintaining good governance and executing the British Lacrosse business plan along with ensuring the effective delivery of the performance plan for Sixes Lacrosse.

In Great Britain, England Lacrosse is the only Tier-3 governed home country, which is the highest level of governance on the UK Sport Code of Sports Governance. This code is put in place to ensure high governance standards because of the significant public investment made into sports. For performance, England Lacrosse is currently the highest ranked home country for men and women in Field and Box formats.
