England Women’s Box Lacrosse Team Assistant Captain Davina Emetulu has been named as the Most Valuable Player in the defensive category after her performances at the 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championships earlier this year.

Emetulu’s time on the floor in Prague, Czechia has also earned her a place in the All-Tournament team alongside the most outstanding players at the tournament.

Helping her team to an eventual and historic bronze medal at the inaugural Euros, Emetulu featured in seven of England’s eight games, notching up two assists, and acting as one of the specialist face-off players where she won 52% of the duels she faced.

England’s defensive record of conceding 59 goals during the competition was only bettered by champions Israel who shipped just 25 goals in their eight matches and the Netherlands who conceded 51 on their way to fifth place.

After also being part of the squad that travelled to Utica, USA in 2024 to compete in the first ever World Lacrosse Women’s Box Championship, it is clear to see that Emetulu is one of the shining defensive lights in England’s arsenal.

During that competition, Emetulu played six times as England finished as the highest placed European nation in fifth.
