England name World Lacrosse Women’s Championship squad
Head Coach Mike Molster has named the final 22-player squad that will represent England in the Nissin Foods 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
England Women will head to Tokyo for the Championship as winners of the 2024 European Women’s Lacrosse Championship, a success which qualified the team as one of the 16 tournament entrants, and of course as bronze medallists from the 2022 World Championship.
Eight players return from that bronze medal triumph in Towson nearly four years ago, while 13 of the victorious European Championship squad are again selected.
The defensive duo of Chloe Chan and Emma Oakley, along with attacker Megan Whittle, will all be vying for a third World Championship medal after bronze in both 2017 and 2022.
Jordan Carr, Oakley, and Charlie Wilson each picked up All-European team honours in Portugal, while returning goalie Britt Read was selected to the All-World team in 2022.
Lucy Devine, Cece Green, Milly Home, and Emma Savage will all play at their first senior World Championship after representing England at the 2019 U19 World Championship, while Annie Mather also steps into the senior squad having played at the 2024 U20 Worlds in Hong Kong.
The Championship takes place in Tokyo from Friday 24 July through to Sunday 2 August. The last time the tournament was held in Japan was in 1997, again in Tokyo, where England finished 3rd beating Wales to the bronze medal.
