England squad announced ahead of Men’s Box Euros
Head Coach Walt Christianson has named his 23-player squad ahead of the upcoming 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championship in Prague, Czechia from 25 June - 4 July.
The reigning champions have named 10 players who were part of the 2022 title-winning squad from four years ago, including Will Allsop, Tom Bracegirdle, Ben Buchanan, Lyndon Bunio, Albert Lee-Whitehead, Elliot Leonard, Cam MacLeod, Tom Roche, Matt Tatton, and Ming Trinh.
Ollie Allsop, George Bascom, Jacob Brindle, Tom Hallam, Billy Rawlins, and Tom Roper are also named after helping England to a second successive fourth-place finish at the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, USA two years ago.
Christianson selects seven players with no previous major tournament experience with England, including Michael Blaymires, Zackery Gignac, Jude Krommenhoek, Ryan Martin, Will Prescott, Jack Robinson, and Tom Whitehead.
In addition to all-time top goalscorer Bunio and long-time goalie MacLeod, Blaymires and Gignac join the squad from overseas with the former based in Louisville, Kentucky, playing D1 lacrosse at Bellarmine University and the former turning out for Lees-McRae College in North Carolina.
Krommenhoek, Martin, Robinson, and Whitehead all featured for England at the E-Box Invitational event earlier this year.
England now have just three dedicated training sessions, as well as a scrimmage against Wales on Saturday in Macclesfield, before travelling to Prague for the Euros where they’ll be looking to win back-to-back titles for the very first time.
They take on Ireland, Finland, and the Netherlands in the Red Group during pool play.
