England women swept away the competition with four wins from four games at the 2026 ShE-Box Invitational event in Prague, Czechia just two months out from the inaugural European Box Lacrosse Women’s Championship.
Wins over Germany, Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Tokyo saw England go unbeaten throughout the event to put themselves in a great position ahead of the 2026 Euros, also being held in Prague from 25 June - 4 July.
Head Coach Conor Dockery will be pleased that his England team were able to overcome the sixth (Germany), seventh (Netherlands), and ninth (Hong Kong, China) placed teams in the world - a feat they also managed at the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, USA where they finished as the top placed European team in fifth.
Torz Anderson, who turned her hand to box lacrosse a couple of years ago alongside her hugely successful field career, left Prague as England’s top points scorer with 20 (10 goals, 10 assists) and added some extra firepower in the attack that will be important come the summer.
Goalie Kayla Martin made an impressive start to her England career at ShE-Box too, picking up an 86% save ratio as she made 42 saves and conceded just seven goals in her two appearances.
England men’s journey at the concurrent E-Box Invitational event was slightly more topsy-turvy with a record of one win and two defeats from their three games showing Head Coach Walt Christianson what still needs working on between now and the Euros in June.
Defeats to Germany and Czechia, both of whom England defeated on their way to winning their first Euros title in 2022, was followed by a six-goal victory over Tokyo.
Christianson will have enjoyed seeing Ollie Allsop come into his own at E-Box, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in the three games, as he looks to replace the goals of all-time top scorer Lyndon Bunio who misses out on the Euros this year due to injury.
As with the women’s team, England’s goalies impressed as Jacob Brindle finished with a 73% save ratio after making 91 saves and newcomer Noah Arnison earning a 71% ratio, making 19 saves.
Both teams now continue their preparations ahead of the 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championships in Prague, Czechia from 25 June - 4 July.
