England’s Minty Loxton and Emma Oakley have been named as Great Britain’s co-captains ahead of the 2026 European Sixes Lacrosse Championships starting in Salou, Spain next week.

At 31, Oakley is one of the most experienced players in England having represented her country at six major tournaments, picking up three European Championship titles and two World Championship bronze medals since 2015.

Despite being just 24 years old and fairly early on in her lacrosse career, Loxton has already proved she can mix with the best, scoring four points and winning 73% of the draws she contested as England claimed the 2024 Euros title.

Both players have been with British Lacrosse for a number of years, pulling on the GB jersey at The World Games in 2022 and 2025.

Loxton and Oakley will co-captain the 12-player GB squad in the first stage of LA28 Olympic qualifying at the 2026 European Sixes Lacrosse Championships in Salou, Spain from 2-9 November.

Drawn in Pool D, GB will take on the Netherlands, Austria, and Norway in their bid to finish in the top five and qualify for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships where a place at the 2028 Olympic Games is up for grabs.
