Gawsworth Primary School secured an unprecedented fourth consecutive title as they overcame Bowdon Prep School 5-2 in the 2026 National POP Lacrosse Championship final last week.

Taking place at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke-on-Trent, the National POP Lacrosse Championship Finals sees 16 of the UK’s best POP Lacrosse-playing schools compete to be crowned champions.

On their way to the 2026 title, Gawsworth went unbeaten in their four group matches and two knockout games, scoring 47 goals and conceding just 16: no mean feat for a version of the game with no goalkeeper!

Elsewhere, in the Plate competition, Banstead claimed the trophy after a convincing 5-1 final win over St David’s Prep.

The National Championships is the culmination of months of hard work by the young players, teachers, and schools who came through regional qualifying competitions to reach the Finals.
