The Great Britain Men’s Team will head to Hamburg, Germany this weekend to compete in the Hamburg Sixes Cup Invitational as they continue their preparations ahead of the 2026 European Sixes Lacrosse Championships in November, the first stage in qualification for the LA28 Olympic Games.

Taking place from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October, GB will play a trio of games against Germany before two matches versus the Netherlands in what has been billed “a professionally organised, hassle-free weekend where players and staff can focus entirely on what matters most - preparing for success.”

The Hamburg Sixes Cup will be held at the Harvestehuder Tennis & Hockey Club in Hamburg-Langenhorn, a venue that features two full-size artificial pitches.

State Councillor of the Ministry of the Interior and Sport, Christoph Holstein, said:

“This is an especially exciting time for the sport, with Lacrosse Sixes set to make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games. The Hamburg Sixes Cup provides a great opportunity for teams from Germany, the Netherlands and England to compete, connect and prepare for the European Championships.

“I wish all participants exciting matches, a successful tournament and a wonderful stay in Hamburg.”

The competition adds to what will be a bumper weekend of sixes action for British Lacrosse with their Women’s Team taking on Czechia, Germany, and the Netherlands in a special international series from 2-4 October at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.
