GB men win 2026 EuroLax Sixes Cup
Great Britain men secured the 2026 EuroLax Sixes Cup on Sunday with an 18-7 win over Netherlands Orange after three days of competition against some of the best teams in Europe.
Nick DeCaprio made an outstanding contribution in the final, scoring five goals and an assist, as he finished the competition as GB’s top points scorer with 13 goals and 10 assists.
GB took in five games over the three-day tournament against teams who are ranked 8th (France), 9th (Netherlands), 7th (Germany), and 17th (Portugal) in Europe.
With some of the UK’s best players at their disposal, GB made short thrift of the competition securing convincing group stage victories over France (24-10) and Netherlands White (22-4) on day one.
As the EuroLax Sixes Cup headed into the knockout stage, GB only got stronger, seeing off Portugal by 20 goals to four in the quarter-final.
Great Britain’s toughest test came in their semi-final match against Germany; despite a significant 22-13 victory in the end, GB had to earn their place in the final as Germany pushed them hard especially in a first half that finished with GB just five points ahead.
A big second half that saw GB score 10 goals and concede just six meant they secured their spot in the final and a chance to lift silverware against an unbeaten Netherlands Orange side.
GB blew Netherlands Orange away in the first eight minutes of the gold medal match, scoring eight goals without reply and kept up the pressure throughout, finishing as 18-7 winners.
