University Lacrosse Officer Programme relaunches as Student Ambassador Programme
England Lacrosse is excited to relaunch its University Lacrosse Programme as the Student Ambassador Programme ahead of the 2026/27 academic year, with applications for the first cohort of Student Ambassadors open now.
The relaunched Programme is designed to increase lacrosse participation in the university sector, develop student leaders, strengthen university-club pathways, and improve graduate retention in lacrosse.
Over the past 15 years, lacrosse participation at universities all over the UK has grown exponentially and England Lacrosse wants to see that growth continue over the next 15 and beyond and that’s why the Programme has been revamped and relaunched for 26/27.
As part of the new Programme, England Lacrosse Student Ambassadors will receive an exciting package of resources including:
A Student Ambassador t-shirt & water bottle
A £200 funding pot to support equipment purchases, events, and initiatives that increase lacrosse participation
A funded England Lacrosse tier one course for either the Ambassador or a club member
Free England Lacrosse membership for the Ambassador
Travel & accommodation support for the Ambassador to attend the Programme’s induction day and designated England Lacrosse events
Access to a series of development webinars for Ambassadors and university club members covering topics such as recruitment, officiating, leadership, event management, club development, and graduate lacrosse opportunities
On-going support and guidance from England Lacrosse staff throughout the duration of the Programme
Student Ambassadors will be expected to attend the induction day with a club committee member, complete three Programme surveys throughout the year, volunteer at an England Lacrosse event at least once, and share university updates, achievements, and success stories on social media.
Being a Student Ambassador is the perfect way for young people to get even more involved in the sport they love and gives them an opportunity to learn vital skills that will help them progress at university at, later, in the world of work.
