School Challenge Cup to take place at Benenden School

Two girls compete at the School Challenge Cup in 2021

England Lacrosse is excited to announce the 2022 School Challenge Cup will now be staged at Benenden School, Kent.

The annual competition, which sees the top eight U19 teams from the year’s National Schools Lacrosse Championships battle it out to be the best of the best, will take place on Sunday 20 November.

The last three editions of the School Challenge Cup have been held at Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre, Aldershot, where the National Schools Lacrosse Championships has also been held for the same duration.

But, this year, the decision has been made to move the School Challenge Cup to Benenden which is a slightly smaller venue that can better accommodate the eight teams competing while also allowing lacrosse to be played in all weathers on their 4G pitch.

It is also a way of England Lacrosse connecting further and working collaboratively with our schools network and enabling schools to showcase their top quality facilities.

Reigning champions, St Catherine’s, who defeated Caterham in the final of last year’s tournament to take home the trophy, will be back to defend their title along with 2022 U19 National Schools Champions, Putney, Berkhamsted, Guildford, St Albans High School for Girls, St George’s Harpenden, St Swithun’s, and hosts, Benenden.
